New Delhi, Jan 22: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Monday took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying the leader calls himself a common man but he embraces only special people. He further said that it is imperative to embrace farmers, labourers and jawans as well.
Rahul tweeted the jibe in poetic form. “He calls himself common, but hugs special people. Modiji, what is this compulsion? Farmers, labourers and the youth should be among those you embrace,” he wrote on Twitter.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is known to give warm hugs to international leaders. He has hugged former United States President Barack Obama, US President Donald Trump, and recently, Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu.
In a recent interview with a news channel, Modi said that he was a common man and he didn’t know much about the protocols. He said his strength was that he was a common man and international leaders like his openhearted behaviour.
He said he was not trained in protocols. He said when he became the prime minister of the country, people asked about how he would deal with international affairs. He said he was inexperienced and that worked in his favour.
