'Too much, too soon' is a maxim that scares Kanika Mann, an actor who graduated in law from Panjab University last year. Barely out of college and already two films opposite leading stars in here kitty, sometimes makes Kanika wonder, if everything coming her way at alarming speed is a good sign. "This director also told me once that don't you think you've already got what other get after many years?" says Kanika, who made her acting debut opposite Parmish Verma in Rocky Mental while still pursuing her law degree and is now doing Dana Pani with Jimmy Sheirgil, "I get somewhat edgy hearing this and hope that what comes soon, doesn't go away soon too!"

Now on her way to making a TV debut with a daily soap Badho Bahu, Kanika is emulating Kangana Ranaut's character from Tanu Weds Manu. "I will be playing a tough, Haryanvi speaking girl, just like Kangana in the film," says Kanika who is sporting a short haircut similar to Kangana's portrayal of Datto. Kanika, who started out as a Punjabi music videos model with Sharry Mann's Roohafza in 2015, and went on to bag a stellar film debut with Parmish, says her venturing into TV is not a deviation; rather it's an affirmation of her different likings and her personal motto of "going with the flow". Says Kanika who has also done a Kannada film Brihaspathi with Manoranjan Ravichandran last year, "I like experimenting with different things. I've done music videos, films, now I wanted to try TV too." She adds, "First, I thought I don't speak Kannada, so why should I act in this film? But then, I didn't speak Punjabi either, since we speak Hindi with my parents at home, and still I acted in Rocky Mental, so, why not!"

Having travelled across the length of the country's entertainment industries, Kanika however feels most special in Punjab. "Punjab treats me specially, like no other industry has. Though my classmates from PU tell me, tuney law ki ek seat waste kar di (laughs)!" says the actor who still hasn't given up her legal pursuit and has enrolled in a masters in law from Kurukshetra University. "My parents want me to have a sound professional plan B, since the entertainment industry is fickle," she justifies.
