The Philadelphia Eagles have a tiny trophy case, and as I write this I know what you're probably thinking. That I'm just speaking the language of meme, repeating an off-told joke that -- if this franchise can beat the Patriots in two weeks -- will finally go away.
But that's not it. They really do have a tiny trophy case. I stumbled upon it last week, in fact. I made a wrong turn in the NovaCare Complex, the Eagles team headquarter just a few blocks from Lincoln Financial Field, after leaving the team's locker room and ended up in the main lobby of the building.
This is where a team's hardware is typically displayed. The Giants have an enormous case across from the reception desk at their East Rutherford headquarters, for example. So do the Jets, although (ahem) it is not quite as enormous. A quick Google search reveals that the Broncos, the Packers, the Steelers and several other teams have some kind of display greeting visitors to their facility.
The Eagles, meanwhile, have something that is roughly the size of a dorm fridge, tucked near the side of the reception desk.

That's a snapshot of the real case above on the right. The fridge -- er, trophy case -- currently contains the team's 2004 NFC Championship Trophy and a team helmet. That's it, which struck me as bit weird. This team has three NFL titles from the pre-Super Bowl Era of professional football, and while the most recent is from a distant 1960, those are a valued part of any franchise history.
Why weren't those trophies displayed in the lobby? Was there another case, a bigger one loaded with awards like quarterback Norm Van Brocklin's MVP from that '60 season, someplace else in the building? I asked the Philadelphia media relations staff these questions last week and didn't get a reply.

So I did what anyone else would do when searching for an answer to a question: I Googled it. And that's when something amazing happened. I realized that dozens of very funny people, many of whom may or may not be Giants fans, have made sure that this simple search is impossible on the internet.
That's where I want to begin this second edition of "Ask Politi" -- our new Monday morning feature where I'll try to answer your pressing questions and a few of my own -- because the potential landing spot for a Lombardi Trophy in Philadelphia is a real concern now.
