Police seize syabu worth RM6.3m, arrest two

GEORGE TOWN: Police have crippled a drug syndicate with the arrest of two suspects and seized drugs believe to be syabu with a street value of RM6.3 million.

Bukit Aman Narcotic Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Mohmad Salleh said the suspects, aged 31 and 41 years old, were arrested in Bukit Mertajam and George Town in raids conducted between 4pm on Jan 19 and 3am on Jan 20. 

He said both the male suspects were locals and the drug seized were meant for domestic distributions.

"Both of them were remanded for six days until Jan 25 to facilitate investigation under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952," he said during a press conference at Penang police contingent headquarters today.
