MIDLAND Midland County Fair and their delegation traveled to San Antonio recently to attend the annual Texas Association of Fairs & Events Convention (TAF&E).
The Midland County Fair, Midland County Horseshoe Arena & Dooley Management Company won 18 combined total Marketing Excellence Awards presented during the 2017 ray cammack shows awards of excellence ceremony, including best overall in fairs with less than 50,000 in attendance.
The Texas Association of Fairs & Events Award of Excellence Competition recognizes fairs, festivals and events for outstanding promotions and superior examples of promotional and media initiatives. This recognition is for fairs who have produced or coordinated outstanding marketing programs compared to other fairs in the State of Texas.
Tammy Dooley, executive director was thrilled. “We have great Advertising & Media Partners, Sponsors and a dedicated volunteer team that works non-stop making each year’s fair experience better than the last.” The delegation attending the conference and accepting the awards included Dooley, Mike Dooley, Lucy Geib, John Geib, Paula Morrison, Roy Raney and Love Swimming Bear. Additionally, Paul Sinar and Candy Sinar of Sinar Media were on hand to accept the first-place award for “Pick Up Chicks” Best Television Commercial.
Dooley also stated, “There is some tough competition in the fair industry, even in West Texas alone. There are great fairs and great events and we are just pleased to be acknowledged among the best.”
Always the fourth weekend in August, the ninth annual MCF is scheduled for Aug. 23-26 at the Midland County Horseshoe Arena, Pavilion & Amphitheater with some pre-fair events beginning the week prior.
The MCF is excited to continue to offer a $5 admittance ticket, “which we consider to be the best ‘price-value’ for traditional family fun and entertainment in the area,” said Dooley.
Continuing to be able to keep the price low is thanks to great partnerships with great sponsors. You can see all these sponsors at the fair.
