Princess Eugenie, 27, is engaged to longterm boyfriend Jack Brooksbank.

The couple first met in Verbier in 2010, while Jack was on a skiing trip with friends.

Buckingham Palace made the official announcement this morning, although rumours have been rife of the couple’s engagement for months after Eugenie was spotted with a ring on her left hand.

The Royal Family have a busy year ahead as Prince Harry, 33 and Meghan Markle, 36, will also marry in 2018.

And it seems there are going to be similarities between the royal weddings, as both couples have chosen the same venue to marry in.

St George’s Chapel in Windsor will host not one but two royal nuptials this year.

Meghan and Harry will wed in May, while Eugenie and Jack will follow later in the autumn.

Neither couple has revealed where they will be hosting their reception.

The Royal Family official Twitter account shared the news of Eugenie’s engagement.

They wrote: “The Duke and Duchess of York are delighted to announce the engagement of Princess Eugenie to Mr Jack Brooksbank.

"Her Royal Highness and Mr Brooksbank became engaged in Nicaragua earlier this month.

"The wedding will take place in the Autumn of 2018 at George's Chapel in Windsor, with further details to be announced in due course."

A picture of the couple which appeared to have been taken in a busy pub, was then shared by the Twitter account.

Their announcement is a far cry from the one Harry and Meghan made, which took place in the gardens of Kensington Palace.

The world's press were on hand to interview the couple and take photos as they beamed with happiness at the news.

A selection of official engagement photos were then released later, with Meghan wearing a £56,000 dress in the pictures.
