We have a very busy weather day ahead for much of southeastern KELOLAND. Blizzard headlines to the south of Sioux Falls will continue. TRAVEL WILL BECOME IMPOSSIBLE IN MUCH OF THE BLIZZARD WARNING AREAS DUE TO BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW.
Here are some of the other headlines. Minnehaha County has a winter weather advisory for snow and blowing snow.
FutureScan continues to track the heaviest snow today east and south of Sioux Falls.
A blizzard comes with lots of wind. Gusts around 50 mph or higher are likely with the heaviest snow band.
Our snow forecast looks like this. Sioux Falls will be 3-7", but the heaviest totals WILL go south. Keep in mind the wind is big factor today, even for areas getting less snow. We are still going with amounts around 12"+ in NW IA.
Temperatures are not that cold behind the storm, mainly in the 20s and 30s.
