Shutdown forces cancellation of Rydell Refuge meeting

A public meeting scheduled for Monday night at Rydell National Wildlife Refuge in Polk County to take input on possible changes to the refuge's hunting plan has been canceled because of the federal government shutdown.

Gregg Knutsen, Rydell Refuge manager, said no federal facilities are open to the public during the shutdown. The meeting will be rescheduled as soon as the shutdown ends, Knutsen said.
