This week, we have some intriguing films across different genres releasing on Republic Day. From a space adventure flick to a modern day thriller to a remake, we are spoilt for choice. While it’s clash between the three, one can’t help be excited over the array of choices. Each of them promise a powerful story. We can’t wait. Here’s a look at the three films releasing this week
Bhaagamathie
Director: G. Ashok
Cast: Anushka Shetty, Unni Mukundan
Synopsis: IAS Chanchala is on a mission to do good for a certain village. She also has a friend by her side to support her in this endeavour. Eventually they fall in love. But things take an awry turn when he gets murdered and she gets framed for it. She is then taken to a haunted house where she tortured mercilessly by the mysterious elements in the house. Things take a turn for the worse when the spirit of Bhaagamathie takes over and is not ready to leave until her debts are cleared.
Why Should you watch it: This is Anushka’s first film after Baahubali and she will be seen in a totally new avatar. Considering it’s a horror thriller genre, there is a lot of excitement around the film. Will Anushka pull this off as well? Let’s find out. Tik Tik Tik
Shakti Soundar Rajan
Star Cast: Jayam Ravi, Nivetha Pethuraj
Synopsis: Planet Earth is in big trouble because a monstrous meteorite is all set to destroy the planet. Only a nuclear missile stationed at Space can prove some damage control. A magician and escape artist along with his troupe is called upon for this mission. Whether they save the day despite facing challenges in space is what forms rest of the story. Why Should you Watch it: This is the first Indian space film and it’s coming from the makers of Soundar Shakti Rajan who made a film on Zombies. The trailer gave us a glimpse of the incredible outer world.. So why wouldn’t we watch Tik Tik Tik?

Why Should you watch it: It’s the remake of the super hit Malayalm movie Maheshinte Prathikaaram and it is directed by Priyadarshan.
