Hindutva has kept India united, says Bhagwat

| | Guwahati

Hailing the Hindutva ideology, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagawat on Sunday said that it is the philosophy of Hindutva has kept the people of India united despite the diversity and differences since ancient times.

Bhagwat said this while addressing a huge rally of Swayam Sevaks and people from different walks of life at the Veterinary College ground at Khanapara here. The biggest ever rally organized by the RSS in this part of the country witnessed participation of over 50,000 people including close to 40,000 Swayam Sevaks who thronged from different parts of the region.

He said that Hindutva is the core essence of unity in India and that those whoever severe ties with Hindutva, they got separated from the country.

“India is because of Hindutva. Whoever is a Hindu is our friend. Hindutva is not a religion but a way of life in India. If one loses his links with Hindutva, he is bound to lose his links with India,” he said while addressing the crowd.

“Mohenjedaro and Harappa are in Pakistan now. Pakistan could have claimed their part of land as Bharat but they did not do so as they wanted to sever ties with Hindutva Similar is the case with Bangladesh. India has forgotten the enmity with Pakistan after August 15, 1947 but Pakistan is yet to forget the enmity with India,” he said adding that the unity in diversity of India is based on one single philosophy—Hindutva.

Referring to the strength of the RSS and its commitment towards nation building, the RSS chief said that one does not need to show his strength but if there is strength it becomes evident. “The Sangh's strength is not to show its strength or to scare anyone but it is for strengthening of the society for betterment of everyone. Don't just remain a spectator, as a sympathiser, learn to come down and learn the culture of the Sangh. Mothers and sisters need to send their sons to the Sangh's shakhas and teach them our vision,” said Bhagwat.

Although Bhagwat does not made any comment regarding the forthcoming polls in three northeastern States — Meghalaya, Nagaland and Tripura, the rally assumes significance.

RSS had been able to bring several religious gurus including the Satradhikars of Vaishnavite Satras in Assam, eminent politicians, heads of village bodies, 20 titular tribal kings and even representatives from some of the tribes in Nagaland in the conclave.
