Shots fired call leads to arrest of Rockford man

ROCKFORD — A 29-year-old Rockford man was arrested Sunday on weapons charges.

Rockford police officers responded about 3:35 a.m. to the 200 block of Skylark Drive for a report of gunshots being fired.

Officers spoke to several people in the area, recovered a semi-automatic .40 caliber handgun, and arrested Danny Turner, 29, of Rockford. 

Turner was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm and violation of the Firearm Owner’s Identification Card Act.
