Scattered showers, thunderstorms returning to Georgia
ATLANTA - Hope you enjoyed the sunny weekend, because the beginning of the week will start off unsettled.
As of now it looks like all of north Georgia will see some rain and a few t-showers Monday. Our western counties have a greater potential to see a few stronger storms.
There’s a level 1 risk for strong to severe storms Monday afternoon and evening for Alabama that extends to the Georgia line. The biggest concern, for us, with this storm system will be heavy rain, but we can’t rule out the chance for damaging winds.
The timing of this cold front will bring it into metro Atlanta during the evening commute. So even though most of the day will be dry make sure to grab your umbrella before you head out Monday morning.
The bulk of the rain will come to an end late Monday night, and more seasonable conditions will return to the area Tuesday. Look for temperatures on Tuesday to be in the 50's along with blustery northwest winds.
The rest of the work week will be dry with highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s.
There will be another storm system next weekend that will bring another round of rain and storms.
