Vodafone Ukraine starts repairin g network in Eastern Ukraine

Mobile operator Vodafone Ukraine has announced that its staff has repairing the damaged backbone line to the area controlled by pro-Russian separatists. The operator plans to issue an additional statement when the connection is resumed. Services from Vodafone Ukraine have been absent in the occuppied areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions for around a week, with the operator not able to access the area.    

Mobile operator Lifecell has issued a statement informing users of the status of its network in the occupped areas. The operator stopped providing its services in the part of the Donetsk region controlled by separatists on 22 February 2017. The equipment of the operator, which worked without technical support, was blocked. Before this, Lifecell removed its commutator and controllers of base stations from the area and managed its base stations remotely.  

The operator claims that it hasn‘t any part in the launch of services using its base stations in the area.
