One dead in Morehouse fire

One person is dead following a house fire on the Mer Rouge/Collinston Highway in Morehouse Parish.

Sheriff Mike Tubbs said authorities were called to the home near Collinston around 3 p.m. Bastrop Fire Department investigators and the State Fire Marshal are on the scene.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
