Delhi Fire: Owner of factory arrested, Congress Demands action

Police have arrested owner of the firecracker unit in outer Delhi’s Bawana industrial area, where a massive fire claimed 17 lives.

Rohini Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajneesh Gupta on Sunday said that the factory owner Manoj Jain was arrested late on Saturday.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has ordered an inquiry into the incident and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the family of the deceased and Rs 1 lakh to injured.

Cong demands action against culprits

New Delhi:

The Delhi unit of the Congress party on Sunday demanded action against culprits in the Bawana fire incident which claimed lives of 17 people.

“It ( fire at a factory in Bawana) is a sad incident. People affected must be given all kinds of assistance. Culprit be punished as per the law,” Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken said in a tweet.
