Ryan Scarfo scored a pair of power-play goals in Union's win Saturday night, while history came on the other end of the ice for the Dutchmen.

Goalie Darion Hanson had a 20-save night at Brown for the program's first shutout victory since Dec. 5, 2015.

The win improved Union to 14-12-1, and keeps the team in third place in the ECAC standings, a point behind Clarkson and Cornell.

Scarfo scored his 14th goal of the season in the second period, off Union's first power play. J.C. Brassard took a shot that Scarfo rebounded.

Midway through the third period, Union earned a five-minute major power play after Brown's Alex Brink was ejected for checking from behind.

During the ensuing power play, Scarfo tapped in another rebound from a Brassard shot.

Defenders in front of Hanson were credited with 16 blocked shots as Union finished off a two-game weekend sweep.

Union will return to the ice next Saturday for the sixth-annual Capital District Mayor's Cup, taking on RPI at 6 p.m. at the Times Union Center.
