The 30-year-old businessman set tongues wagging when he turned out to support his on-off girlfriend, 38, for her first routine on the ITV reality show.
But who is James? What is his job? And are he and Donna dating at the moment?
Who is James Middleton?
James Middleton is the younger brother of the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, 36, and her sister Pippa Middleton, 34.

He previously ran a baking company, Nice Group London, which made treats for big name brands such as Jigsaw and Ralph Lauren from 2011 before closing down last year.
According to the Daily Mail, the upmarket cake business, which comprised of Cake Kit Company, Nice Cakes and Nice Wine, lost money each year in which it traded.
He later started his own novelty marshmallow brand, Boomf, which has grown to offer personalised gifts from chocolate to greeting cards which burst out of their envelopes in an explosion of confetti.

Are James Middleton and Donna Air in a relationship?
Donna Air has been dating James Middleton on and off since 2012, including a temporary separation in 2016.
The couple attended Pippa’s wedding to hedge fund manager James Matthews, 42, in May last year, but were hit by split rumours in October.
Despite the reports that they had gone their separate ways, James joined the crowd at Dancing On Ice last night to cheer Donna on, appearing to confirm that their relationship is back on.
Dancing On Ice continues Sunday at 6pm on ITV.
