India.com had informed its readers yesterday about the strong buzz going around in the industry about Sidharth Malhotra’s Aiyaary being preponed to January 26 weekend. The makers somehow were not okay to clash with Padman on February 9 but alright about the big face off with Padmaavat which is releasing on January 25. Sources said that the reason is that the makers want to benefit from the long weekend and also might get a free run in some territories since distributors in some areas were wary of buying the screening rights to Padmaavat.

Add to this, the subject of the film, which went well with Republic Day instead of Feb 9 release date. However, latest reports claim that Aiyaary will have to keep its date next month. We hear that the presenter and distributor of the film, Reliance Entertainment held a meeting with multiplex owners last night for a possible pre-ponement in the film’s release but no viable solution could have been reached upon. The makers demanded a certain amount of screens which the multiplexes couldn’t offer.

Though Padmaavat is still in troubled waters in some states, the multiplex owners who have already bought the screening rights are aware that there is a great buzz around the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film and therefore they are allocating as many screens and shows possible to Padmaavat. So finally it looks like Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor’s Padmaavat will enjoy a solo release on 25 January 2018 onwards, something that it rightfully deserves. While Aiyaary will have to clash with Akshay Kumar’s Padman.
