There has been no follow-up information concerning the road rage shooting on Route 60 in Vero Beach near Walmart in November. I find this unusual.
This appears to have been a very dangerous situation. It occurred at 7 p.m. in a busy, crowded public area. Apparently a dozen rounds were discharged and another vehicle with a 3-year-old child inside was hit four times.
It was only good fortune that this child or anyone else was not struck.
The shooter was released at the scene.
I have not seen a word about this matter anywhere since a day or so after it occurred.
There may be hesitation in dealing with it because of the controversy surrounding certain of Florida's laws. The shooter wasn't even taken into custody following the incident.
I have no position on it one way or the other. I think after two months the public should be informed.
I am surprised that apparently no one or no authority has raised this point.
