NEW RIEGEL — Senior Brianna Gillig pumped in 30 points and became the leading scorer in New Riegel girls basketball history as she led the Blue Jackets to a 62-25 romp over Cory-Rawson on Saturday in nonconference girls basketball.
New Riegel improved to 6-7 with the victory.
The 5-foot-9 Gillig now has 1,439 points. With her seven-point first quarter, she passed Rachel (Faeth) Fruth, who recorded 1,413 from 1993 through 1997.
Gillig added 11 rebounds, five steals and two blocked shots to her day’s work. Kristin Coleman notched nine points and three assists for the Blue Jackets. Brooklyn Gillig matched older sister Brianna’s five steals and Kaitlyn Kirian joined Coleman with three assists.
Sami Roth’s 10 points led the Hornets, who suffered through 19.6 percent (9 of 46) shooting from the field and fell to 3-14. Zoe Chisholm grabbed six rebounds, while Hayley Waltz had three steals and two assists and Sarah Curth blocked two shots.

ARCADIA — Kennedy Pratt made a basket and converted a free throw with five seconds remaining to lift Arcadia to a 43-42 victory over Elmwood on Saturday in nonconference girls basketball.
The Redskins improved to 12-2 on a day when Elmwood senior Zoe Shank went past 1,000 points for her career.
Pratt ended up with 12 points and seven rebounds, with teammate Emma Saltzman adding 10 points, 11 rebounds and three assists. Samantha Watkins recorded four steals and three assists.
Shank, who entered the game needing five points to reach 1,000, finished with 15 points as the Royals slipped to 12-2. Maddie Schramko had nine points and eight rebounds.

Fogle nailed six 3-pointers on her way to 27 points and Hensel popped in four treys while scoring 24. Fifty-percent shooting (33 of 66) from the field helped the Rams up their record to 12-3 overall and 8-2 in the N10.
Fogle added team highs of seven assists and six steals and Hensel collected a team-best seven rebounds along with six assists. Madison McLaughlin snared six rebounds and Alivia Oney came up with four steals for Upper Sandusky.
Briana Outcalt led the Rockets (6-10, 3-7 N10), who were hampered by 31 turnovers, with 10 points.
