Meanwhile, a communiqué issued by the President’s Media Unit noted that the President has also issued directives to the Governor of the Uva Province to take over the Uva Provincial Education Ministry.

Accordingly, Chief Minister of the Uva Province, Chamara Sampath Dissanayake took measures to resign from his portfolio of Provincial Education Minister, until the investigations are concluded.

Speaking to our news team about his resignation, the Chief Minister stated that a political scheme against him is underway to divert the attention from the bond scam.

The Police Media Unit says the teacher who was allegedly forced to kneel before the Uva CM had been directed to a Judicial medical doctor in order to assess her state of mental health among other things.
