STOCKTON — Jock Landale scored 32 points and Emmett Naar made four free throws in the final minute to give Saint Mary’s a 72-69 victory over upset-minded Pacific.

The victory was the 14th in a row for the Gaels, one short of the school record. They are 19-2 overall and 8-0 in the West Coast Conference, one game ahead of Gonzaga.

Trailing by one with a minute to play, Saint Mary’s got a three-point basket from Tanner Krebs to lead 68-66. After Pacific pulled even, Naar was fouled and hit two free throws. He hit two more after Pacific had pulled to within 70-69.

Naar finished with 12 points. Calvin Hermanson added 11.

Pacific (10-11, 5-3) led for more than half the game and were up by as many as six points in the second half.

Saint Mary’s will go for a school-record tying 15th straight victory Thursday night at home against third-place  BYU (17-4, 6-2).
