TULSA, Okla. —The new director of Holocaust education for the Jewish Federation of Tulsa feels like he is back at home after spending many years on the East Coast. Jesse Ulrich got his bachelor's degree in history from the University of Oklahoma in 2004 and his master's degree in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies from Brandeis University in Boston in 2007. EXCHANGE-LAW SCHOOL-DIVERSITY
NORMAN, Okla. —Seventy years ago, the U.S. Supreme Court opened the door for nonwhite students to attend the only taxpayer-funded law school in Oklahoma. On Jan. 12, 1948, voting 9-0 in Sipuel v. Board of Regents of the University of Oklahoma, the court ruled states could not discriminate against law-school applicants due to race.
