'Europe is JEALOUS' French politician admits Britain's booming economy has EMBARRASSED EU
A FRENCH politician has claimed that Britain's post-Brexit future is positive - something which has made the EU jealous, as he mocked those who predicted a "cataclysm" in the wake of Brexit.
François-Xavier Bellamy, a French politician and acclaimed philosopher, has mocked the EU elite who predicted that Brexit would cause a catastrophic impact on Britain.
The deputy mayor of Versailles claimed the doom-and-gloom scaremongering from European politicians had been proved wrong.

He pointed to the record-breaking statistics of UK employment - which France could only wish for, according to the French academic.
British unemployment is around 4.2 percent, while France suffers from a 9.7 percent unemployment rate.
Earlier today, Mr Bellamy told France Culture Radio: "People have said that the situation was very difficult and that the UK is in a difficult economic period.
"The truth is they’ve hit a 40-year record low on unemployment figures, which is a good thing of course.
"They are in a situation of full employment that we could very much be jealous of at the moment
"There are many economic factors that indicate a positive future
"Where are the people against Brexit who said it was all going to be catastrophic."

He said that the resilience of the British economy was in spite of a "punishment" campaign from Europe.
Mr Bellamy said: "The EU’s address to the UK is very hard, punishing, with the goal of stopping other countries from leaving.
"As a consequence of this punishing approach, there’s naturally a psychological repercussion on UK investments.
"That's the reason for the small mess - but it's far from the catastrophic chaos that was announced.
"We were told it would be a cataclysm, the ruin of the UK, but until now, apart from some EU agencies moving, there hasn’t been much that has happened."
