Travon King, a tight end-defensive end from Woodrow Wilson, has made an oral commitment to Temple. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound King announced his decision on Twitter.

He is a potential fit at linebacker for Temple, according to somebody familiar with the Owls recruiting.

King had originally committed to Rutgers in an early period, but never signed. He was an Inquirer first-team all-South Jersey selection after recording 16.5 sacks and helping the Tigers reach the South Jersey Group 3 title where they lost to Delsea, 29-28.

The Owls also received a commitment from Tyreke Young, a similarly built 6-3, 210 defensive end from Hilton Head, South Carolina High who is known for his speed. Young also announced it on Twitter.

According to a source, the Owls were closing in on getting an oral commitment from David Nwaogwugwu, a 6-6, 245-pound two-way lineman from DeWitt Clinton, in the Bronx, New York. He recently made an official visit.

Temple had 25 players commit during the early signing period from Dec. 20-22.

The next signing period begins Feb. 7.
