JOB: The Royal Household advertised a role for a communications assistant

The Royal household launched a search for one “exceptional” person to be involved with garden parties and promote the work of the Royal Family.

The successful candidate will probably work with the prince, Meghan and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The job is a 12 month find term contract from April 2018 to April 2019.

Which means the successful candidate could work in and around Harry and Meghan’s wedding.

The job for an entry level communications assistant listing was advertised on LinkedIn.

The Royal Household said the candidate would need to pen press releases for the family and be involved with press announcements, media briefings and social media updates.

This could include state visit and award ceremonies and the candidate must “spark interest and reach a range of audiences”.

The role will be based in Buckingham Palace with the person open to travelling in the UK or overseas to “support important visits and engagements”.

The salary for the entry-level role is not specified, but it comes with a “comprehensive" benefits package including 33 days' holiday and a 15% employer contribution pension scheme.

The application date closes on January 24 with interviews set in February.

But it appears the position has been filled as the post has now been taken down.

Bride-to-be, Meghan, has a new Senior Communications Officer, Amy Pickerill, who made her first public appearance with the royals during their visit to Cardiff Castle this week.

The couple are rumoured to be thinking about moving to Cotswold and renovating a Roman villa.

Prince Harry and the former Suits actress are set to marry on Saturday, May 19 at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
