Sri Lanka got off to a slow start against Zimbabwe with Kusal Perera and Upul Tharanga ensuring they do not lose any early wickets. With a low total of 199 runs to chase, the side can take their time. Zimbabwe seamers Kyle Jarvis and Tendai Chatara struggled to get a wicket before Upul Tharanga departed on 17, giving away his wicket to Chatara. Kusal Mendis and Kusal Perera stitched a partnership to steer Sri Lanka towards victory before the latter departed on 49 off Muzarabani after Sri Lanka cross 100-run mark. The right-arm seamer then sent Kusal Mendis who departed on 36. Blessing Muzarabani struck again to send Niroshan Dickwella as Sri Lanka lose 3 wickets in quick succession. Earlier, Malcolm Waller and Brendan Taylor stitched a strong partnership and took the total past 100 before the former became a victim to Lankesh Sandakan and edges a ball straight to Niroshan Dickwella. Horrible mix-up in the middle sent Peter Moor for a golden duck and Brendan Taylor completed his half century before getting out for 58 off Thisara Perera.
