Fed up now. Abandoned a ride this morning due to near freezing temperatures and constant rain and am about to ride one of two zwift events in the shed.
Swooping quickly along bluebell lined dusty trails in a short sleeve shirt savouring the sunshine seems so far away...
/minor moan.
It was dusty today, it's overrated, skipping around and drifting through turns

I always find it hard to motivate myself to go out in the rain but once you get going it's fine if wearing decent waterproofs.
I don't wash or clean my winter hardtail so save that additional down time!
Dry trails are great but sliding around trying to correct washouts and finding the limit of tyres in the mud is equally as fun.
The Bluebells are about 2-3 inches out of the ground in my garden already I'm hoping they aren't being too optimistic , but until spring is sprung at least it's warm and sheltered off road in the woods especially with a nice insulating coat of kentish mud on 8O.
Riding through the winter is a bit of a chore. Being injured tho and not be able to make the choice is worse. I tend to be pretty sick of the mud by the end of Feb but you know it's going to get better then.
If I could, I'd go riding today even tho it's proper horrible out there. I know I'd feel so much better having got wet and muddy even after the tedious post ride clean up.
So yeah dusty trails are ace. But not being able to ride whatever the weather is properly rubbish

Funny, I was just thinking how dry it's been recently up here in the North East of Scotland. It seems to be the pattern recently (cold but dry Januarys). Trails are rock hard and if you find one with a dusting of snow on quite grippy. Just need to watch out for the ice though 
Been ill for two weeks so not been out but prior to that I was turning into a roadie.
Heavy sleet here. Grrr.
While I would agree immediately when it comes to wind & rain ..as Roverpig said earlier ..a day like we had yesterday hard frozen trails , blue skies , the right kind of snow ( grippy ) ..not much beats it ..
It's been fabulous here. Snow and low temps mean the bike and gear remains clean (once the snow has melted off it). A big thaw expected this afternoon though so the trails will be mush for a while.
FWIW, 11C overnight at Lands End, -16C in parts of the Highlands!!
Horrible yesterday, extremely cold wet and muddy .. 2 1/2 hours to regain feeling in my feet .
I’d be going out today (staying dry on 29er mainly road) but got home and half the wallpaper in the living room was off and more of the same today, a sofa to order, led lights to replace and hopefully a bike sale and reduction in the fleet ..
May scam an hour later..
