Australian skipper Steve Smith won the toss and elected to bowl first. For the hosts, the 3rd ODI against England in Sydney is a do-or-die match. With the visitors already winning the first two ODIs at MCG and Gabba chasing, Australia are looking to turn things a bit around in the 3rd ODI and will chase. Australia have made four changes in their line-up with Pat Cummins, Adam Zampa, Nathan Lyon and Josh Hazlewood, all returning to the side. England have made no changes in their line-up. Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow got off to a solid start, opening the innings for the side. But Pat Cummins provided an early breakthrough in his second over, getting the precious wicket of Jason Roy. Allrounder Marcus Stoinis got the better of Alex Hales and put England in a mini-trouble, by taking another quick wicket in succession. Joe Root, who has not been out in the series so far, settled the innings with Bairstow, but the left-handed departed soon for 39 on Adam Zampa’s delivery, followed by Root who departed on 27. England vs Australia 3rd ODI LIVE Cricket score: 1105 hrs IST: 150 up for England. This partnership between Jos Buttler and Eoin Morgan has reached 43 runs and the duo are working out in the middle to take their side to safer shores.

1055 hrs IST: Dropped! Eoin Morgan was dropped on 18 by Steve Smith, who rarely misses any catch. It was any easy catch at the covers but the Australian skipper lets it go.

1010 hrs IST: Joe Root in this series has been invincible so far. He made 91* at MCG and then came back to score 46* at Gabba. He is currently playing on 21* and Australia will need to get his wicket soon or he can single-handedly take the game away from them.

1000 hrs IST: Two early wickets has slowed down the run rate for England in Sydney. In 15 overs, the visitors have made only 69 runs and are looking to settle down. Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow are working hard in the middle to keep the score board ticking but boundaries are coming hard to come by.
