Bhoomi on small screen

Sony MAX, the leading Hindi movies channel from Sony Pictures Networks, will be airing Sanjay Dutt’s comeback movie Bhoomi on Sunday, January 21, 2018, at 8pm where Dutt will be seen in full force after three long years. Directed by ace director, Omung Kumar with Sanjay Dutt and Aditi Rao Hydari in pivotal roles, Bhoomi is based on the sensitive topic of gang- rape. The movie revolves around the life of Bhoomi, played by Aditi Rao Hydari, who is the daughter of a shoe-smith Arun Sachdeva, played by Sanjay Dutt. Arun is shattered when he discovers that his daughter, Bhoomi has been raped by Dhauli, played by Sharad Kelkar and three other men. The father and daughter duo then plan to take revenge. Nasir Hussain Film Festival

With the best melodies and action packed together, the 1966 Box Office hit Teesri Manzil is a true musical thriller in every sense and continues to be one of the most appreciated films even today. Zee Classic with its proposition Woh Zamaana Kare Deewana will air this classic on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 12 noon, as a part of the Nasir Hussain Film Festival. Produced and directed by Nasir Hussain, the movie starred Shammi Kapoor and Asha Parekh as the lead, along with Laxmi Chhaya, Premnath, Prem Chopra, Iftekhar, Helen, KN Singh and Salim Khan in supporting roles. But a Nasir Hussain movie is incomplete without music and Teesri Manizil has a phenomenal combination with music composed by RD Burman, songs sung by the deadly duo - Asha Bhosle and Mohammed Rafi while the lyricist was the eminent Majrooh sultan Puri.

Prithvi Vallabh goes on air

Sony Entertainment Television (SET) launches its sub-brand ‘SET Originals’ with ‘Prithvi Vallabh’ being the first production to premier under this brand. A finite series, Prithvi Vallabh narrates a tale of two archrival warriors; Prithvi and Mrinal. It is a unique story that starts with hatred on a battlefield and ends up becoming a grand love story. The show’s stellar star cast includes Ashish Sharma as Prithvi, Sonarika Bhadoria as Mrinal, Pawan Chopra as Singhdant, Shalini Kapoor as Rajmata, Alefia Kapadia as Savita, Jitin Gulati as Tailap, Piyali Munshi as Jakkala, Surendra Pal as Vinayaditya, amongst others.
