Henrikh Mkhitaryan arrived in London on Saturday night ahead of completing his move to Arsenal.
Mkhitaryan, who is celebrating his 29th birthday today, was omitted from the Manchester United squad at Burnley on Saturday out of fear an injury could scupper his switch to The Gunners.
The Armenia captain was filmed with agent his agent Mino Raiola and family members at a London hotel, where United teammate Marcos Rojo was also staying. United players have two days off after beating Burnley.
Mkhitaryan could make his Arsenal debut at Swansea on January 30, since he is cup tied for their League Cup semi-final second leg against Chelsea on Wednesday, having played in the competition for United. Arsenal do not have an FA Cup tie next week after they were ejected by Championship side Nottingham Forest.
Alexis Sanchez is due to have his United medical at their Carrington training complex on Sunday and could train with his new teammates on Tuesday.
United manager Jose Mourinho revealed he wanted to sign Sanchez due to a 'lack of competition' in the attacking positions.
"In this moment there is no competition for places," Mourinho added. "In this moment we have four attacking players for three positions, three are starting, one is on the bench, Zlatan for the whole season was not available.
"We look to central defenders, played Jones and Smalling, Rojo on the bench, Victor [Lindelof] in the stands, [Eric] Bailly is injured, look to midfield, Fellaini, Herrera and McTominay on the bench, Carrick in the stands.
"And we look to the attacking areas and we need that extra competitive internal competition but more solutions for us, so let's see."
