Men's basketball - Bucknell 77, Holy Cross 56: Bison rout Crusaders, extend winning streak to six

LEWISBURG, Pa. — Zach Thomas scored 18 points with six rebounds, and Bucknell beat Holy Cross 77-56 on Saturday to extend its winning streak to six.

Thomas, the Patriot League's scoring and rebounding leader, made 4 of 7 from the field and 9 of 11 free throws with Nana Foulland adding 14 points and seven rebounds. Stephen Brown scored 10 points for the Bison (13-8, 7-1), who are alone in first place.

Freshman guard Austin Butler had 13 points and six rebounds and freshman forward Jacob Grandison 13 points and nine boards for the Crusaders (5-14, 2-6). Junior Jehyve Floyd added eight points for Holy Cross.

Bruce Moore's dunk less than two minutes into the game put Bucknell ahead for good with the Bison using a 10-0 run to go up 16 points on their way to a 36-19 halftime lead.

Foulland's jumper with 8:29 remaining in the game put Bucknell up by 29, 66-37.

Bucknell hit 44.3 percent of its field goal attempts and 72.7 percent of its free throws, while holding a 43-36 rebounding advantage. Holy Cross connected on 35.6 percent of its shots from the floor and 52.6 percent of its attempts at the charity stripe.
