4G coverage available in 3,608 Brazilian municipalities

4G mobile telephony and internet networks are already available in 3,608 municipalities, where 91.3 percent of the Brazilian population lives, according to the November report of the Brazilian Telecommunications Association (Telebrasil). The number of 4G accesses has reached 99 million, an increase of 76 percent since November 2016. During this period, 2,450 new municipalities received the 4G networks. 

3G coverage is available in 5,109 municipalities, where 98.7 percent of the Brazilian population lives. Since November 2016, 160 new municipalities have received 3G networks. In all, the number of 3G accesses already reaches 88.3 million in the country. 

In all, there are 205.3 million mobile internet accesses and considering both fixed and mobile accesses the figure reaches 234 million. Of these, 28.5 million are in fixed broadband, a segment that grew 6.8 percent since November of last year, with 1.8 million new accesses.
