San Antonio police have arrested a man for an alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl behind a movie theater three years ago.

Franky Rene Esparza, 26, was taken into custody by police on Jan. 17 following an investigation and has been charged with sexual assault of a child, a second degree felony.

According to an arrest affidavit, the victim was at an area theater with her family on June 30, 2015, around 11 p.m. when she decided not to watch the film and opted to stay in the lobby.

The victim said that's when Esparza came up to her and tried to initiate "small talk," but she walked away, not wanting anything to do with him.

The affidavit states the girl then went outside and sat on a bench, located at an apartment complex behind the movie theater. The victim says Esparza followed her and then attempted to touch her inappropriately.

The victim stated she attempted to get away but that Esparza pursued and assaulted her.
