At least eight persons were found dead in four districts- Jessore, Feni, Cox's Bazar and Natore, in three days.
JESSORE: Police recovered bullet-hit bodies of four suspected robbers from Sadar and Jhikargachha upazilas here early Saturday.
Police also recovered firearms and bullets along with some materials used in robbery from the spots.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Kotwali Police Station (PS) Mokhlesur Rahman said on a tip-off, police raided the Jessore-Magura road in Sadar Upazila early Saturday. Later, police recovered the bodies of two robbers.
Police, however, recovered two other bodies of suspected robbers in Jhikargachha Upazila on the same day.
Assistant SI of Jhikargachha PS Rafiqul Islam said on a tip-off, police raided Chapatola Village and recovered the bodies of two robbers.
Police suspected that the incidents might have happened between two groups of robbers over dividing the robbery goods.
The bodies were sent to Jessore General Hospital morgue for autopsies.
FENI: A minor girl was found dead at Baur Pathar Village in Porshuram Upazila here on Friday, one day after her missing.
She was identified as Liza Akhter Sumi, 6, daughter of Abdul Mannan, of the village.
Police and locals said Liza went missing on Thursday evening. Later, locals saw her body was floating in Bholla pond near Bangladesh-India border on Friday morning.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Porshuram PS Khaled Hossain rushed to the spot and recovered the body.
There is an injury mark on the head of the body; so it is suspected that she might have been killed, the OC said.
A case was filed in this connection.
COX'S BAZAR: Police recovered floating body of a mentally retarded youth from the Bankkhali River at Mantharghona area under Chakmarkul Union in Ramu Upazila here on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Hasanul Manna, 38, son of late Mofizur Rahman, of Boiddaghona Khwaza Manzil area of the district town.
Quoting local people, Ramu PS SI Saidur Rahman said the youth fell in the river at Mohsiniapara area under PMKhali Union in Sadar Upazila and drowned. Later, his body was recovered from Mantharghona area under Chakmarkul Union in Ramu Upazila.
NATORE: Police recovered bodies of a housewife and a day labourer from Baraigram Upazila here on Thursday night.
The deceased were identified as Khaleda Begum, 35, wife of a truck driver Rois Uddin, of Ahmedpur Bazaar Village in the upazila and Golam Mostafa, of Dangapara Village in Lalpur Upazila of the district.
Quoting the deceased Khaleda's father, Chairman of Joary Union Parishad under Baraigram Upazila Chand Muhammad said Khaleda and her husband quarrelled with each other over trifling matter on Thursday night.
On information, he came to the spot on Friday morning and found Khaleda's body hanging with the ceiling of the room, but her husband was missing.
On the other hand, Baraigram PS sources said Golam Mostafa borrowed Tk 12,000 from one Goutam Maker of Panchbaria Village but he failed to repay the money.
Later, Goutam and his men took Golam Mostafa to a mango garden at Koin Bazaar area in the upazila, and after beating him mercilessly, fled from the spot.
Later, Golam Mostafa died on the way to a local hospital.
