Helen Mirren tells actresses to stop complaining about nude scenes they signed up to
OSCAR winner Helen Mirren says actresses who sign up for nude scenes in films should not complain about them afterwards. Although “never easy” and often “gratuitous”, she says it is up to the starlet to “be professional” and fulfil the contract.

Dame Helen, however, remains “embarrassed and mortified” at the nude scenes she has acted in.
The 72-year-old said they were only truly required for movies about nudism, and have always been unnecessary.
While the #MeToo movement has revealed many female stars were pressured into sex scenes, the star insists she agreed to all of hers willingly.
Actresses like Salma Hayek have accused their Hollywood paymasters of demanding nude screen moments or be fired.

But Dame Helen said: “You either agree to the script or you don’t.
“And if you have agreed to the rest of it, then you have agreed to that.
“That has always been my attitude as a professional.
“At the same time it is never easy.

“Except if it is a love scene at least you have got your partner and you are in it together.”
She added: “A nude scene is something else, and my approach to it was I am embarrassed and mortified but I want to liberate myself.
“It is never necessary really unless you are doing a movie about nudism.
“It is always gratuitous.”
Asked if it was always men who asked her to remove her clothes, she said: “Absolutely...but things are changing.”
