HUDSON – The review of the town’s proposed fiscal 2019 spending plan will continue Monday as selectmen will discuss the budgets of three town departments and the capital plan.
Police Chief Michael Burks, Fire Chief John Blood and Recreation Director Steven Santos will present their budgets to board members during selectmen’s third budget hearing.
The largest budget item selectmen will debate is Burks’ request for $3.59 million. Burks’ proposal is a slight increase from the department’s $3.47 million budget last year.
The Fire Department’s proposed fiscal 2019 budget of $3.24 million is slightly less than the $3.29 million spending package selectmen signed off on in fiscal 2018.
Santos is seeking a $382,759 budget, an $18,552 increase from last year.
Town officials will also detail the proposed $1.2 million capital plan.
Selectmen kicked off budget season in late December and have approved the spending plans of several town departments in the two budget sessions held thus far. The largest item selectmen signed off on was the Public Works’ Department’s $6.41 million budget. That plan includes $1.93 million for sewage disposal, $1.47 million for the Water Department, $832,135 for administrative costs, $883,451 for the Street Department, $595,999 for parks and cemetery, $336,453 for snow and ice and $356,290 for vehicles.
Board members also approved budgets for the library, Board of Health, Finance and Information Technology Department, Council on Aging and the town clerk’s office.
Monday’s budget hearing will begin at 7 p.m. in the selectmen’s meeting room at Town Hall.
