New Albany star Romeo Langford is chasing Indiana high school basketball history this season.
With 15 games (at most, with a state title run) left on the schedule after New Albany's win over Evansville Reitz on Saturday, he'll need a robust 41.4 points per game to catch Damon Bailey, the state's all-time leading scorer. If it's 14 games, thanks to a sectional bye, he'd need 44.3 points per.
The McDonald's All-American scored 30 points Saturday. He currently sits at 2,513 points.
Here's who Langford is due to catch next:
No. 6 Trevon Bluiett (2,568)
The 2014 Park Tudor graduate won three state titles with the Panthers and averaged 35.7 points and 11.4 rebounds during his senior season. Bluiett originally committed to UCLA before decommitting and joining Xavier, where he is a senior. He is averaging 19.4 points per game this season, which is fifth-most in the Big East.
