Trying to avoid buying an expensive collar, but I suspect that might prove necessary.
Is there any chance that just replacing the pins will cure some fore /aft play in my seatpost?
Alternatively, I think I remember someone on here saying that they might start producing the bushings, so cheaper than the whole top assembly?

Fore/aft will be the top bush. The brass key replacement would be for rotational play.
As above, there's also a bush on the seal head which will also affect fore/aft.
Although if you have play keys will be worth changing too IMO.
The other thing to consider is that if the friction coating on the bushes go it'll mark the post which will cause more issues.
Changing the bush maybe possible however Was always concerned about distorting the collar body which again will affect alignment & wear

Someone on here is selling the bushes separately. The original bush comes with the seal head for about 50 quid 
It's the removal which is the issue without damaging the collar that's the issue that I had an issue with. Think they were £40 Rep ish
