Kashmir: Army jawan, BSF soldier dead in cross-border gunfire

New Delhi: An Indian Army Soldier, Border Security Force (BSF) jawan lost their lives in a truce infringement at the border in the middle of reports of massive gunfire along the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) beckons Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan Syed Haider Shah after the cross-border gunfire along the border. The infringement of armistice by Pakistan Rangers also takes the lives of two non-combatants and wounded three others.

As per the reports, heavy gunfire dead Pakistani civilian and wounded nine others.

“The gunfire began at 6.40 a.m. and continued intermittently for over four hours. Indian positions efficiently and strongly hit back the Pakistani fire,” a cop source stated.

The BSF army man who got wounded was found as Head Constable Jagpal Singh. Following the attack, several schools in areas near International Border were shut down.

External Affairs Ministry Representative Raveesh Kumar criticized the constant infringement by Pakistan. “We, of course, retaliate in such cases and we also take up the matter at the appropriate level with the Pakistani side,” he added.

Theatre Officials in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Haryana had been unwilling to screen Padmaavat as they are afraid of assaults from Rajput communities.

The verdict to shift PadMan’s release date was declared on Friday.  Sanjay Leela Bhansali affirmed, “You know Padmaavat has witnessed a lot of hardship. The release date was his. We appealed him to change the release as he is a big actor.”

On Twitter, Deepika Padukone wrote, “In support of Team Padmaavat, a big big Gratitude to Team Padman for your support and kindness.”

Film “Padman” is directed by R Balki. It revolves around journey of Tamil Nadu based social activist Arunachalam Muruganantham who made cheap sanitary napkins in rural India.
