Bridgewater man arrested on drug dealing charges

BRIDGEWATER – A Bridgewater man has been arrested on drug dealing charges after a month-long investigation, police said Saturday.

David Scott, 39, of Bridgewater, was arrested and charged with distribution of a class A substance and possession with intent to distribute a class A substance Friday night around 6 p.m. after officers with the W.E.B. Major Crimes and Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on his home.

Police executed the warrant after they witnessed an apparent drug deal take place at the back of Scott’s Spring Street residence.

Police found several phones, $6,000 in cash – a sum consistent with street-level sales of narcotics, police noted – about 30 baggies of individually-wrapped substance suspected to be heroin, and a larger quantity of suspected heroin not yet packaged for resale.

Scott was held on $5,040 cash bail.

The Task Force consists of members of the Whitman, West Bridgewater, East Bridgewater, Bridgewater and Bridgewater State University police departments.
