LAKE WALES — Lake Wales Medical Center is changing its visitation policy for the remainder of flu season.
Effective immediately, no one younger than 14 will be allowed to visit patients at the hospital. Additionally, no one with cold- or flu-like symptoms can visit. This includes those with fever, sore throat, cough, or shortness of breath, as well as a rash or diarrhea.
The hospital’s visitation policy limits the number of visitors per patient to two at a time.
Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center has adjusted guidelines for visitors to the women’s services unit and pediatrics. Only visitors without flu-like symptoms will be permitted on the unit. There are also some restrictions for children visiting on the unit. Anyone visiting with a child should call 863-419-BABY (2229) with any questions regarding visitation during this flu season.
