Muscat Municipality inspects foodstuff facilities in Amerat

The inspection teams of the Muscat Municipality in Amerat conducted inspections on a number of food and public health facilities such as commercial complexes, food stores, fish and meat shops recently.

The visits were conducted as part of the municipality’s regulations and laws governing municipal work and in the interest of maintaining health and safety.

The teams monitored various aspects related to public health, prices, expiry dates and storage of food items, stated a press release. Inspection visits have been intensified to monitor compliance with local orders and regulations relating to public health and raising health awareness among workers.

These initiatives are part of the municipality’s eagerness to regulate and control markets and commercial activities in the governorate.

The civic body has asked consumers not to hesitate to report any food or health irregularities that may be detrimental to health or the safety of public. Complaints can be filed with the Muscat Municipal Communications Centre or through the civic body’s social media sites.
