Shooting Arrests: Cops arrested two men they believe were involved in the Jan. 6 shooting of a 22-year-old man near Riverview Cemetery. Kalik Johnson, 23, and Jordan Glennon, 24, were charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses for allegedly pistol-whipping the man then shooting him in the hand, cops said. The man ran to a home on Centre Street, where he called the cops. He was taken to the hospital and kept overnight for observation of non-life-threatening injuries to his hand. Cops this week nabbed the two suspects following an investigation by the Mercer County Shooting Response Team. Cops didn’t say what the motive for the shooting was. The victim was not robbed during the violent affair, cops said.
Unlawful Handgun Possession: Rodney Riley, 28, was recently arrested by street crimes detectives and charged with gun and drug offenses after cops were called out around 5 p.m. to the 200 block of Spring Street for a report of gunfire. There they found Riley standing on a porch of an abandoned home. He was detained and cops later found him with a loaded handgun, heroin, prescription pills and cash. He had more than $1,500 seized from him as suspected drug proceeds, cops said. He wasn’t hit with charges related to the apparent shooting because cops didn’t find a victim or any home riddled with bullets, cops said.

Alleged Inmate Rapist Faces More Charges: Ahnwar Dixon, 39, of East Orange, a corrections officer who was arrested in 2016 on allegations he sexually assaulted or inappropriately touched two female inmates at the all-women Edna Mahan Correctional Facility, is facing additional counts of criminal sexual contact. A third victim has come forward with allegations Dixon sexually assaulted her, prompting further prosecutorial action leading to a superseding indictment. Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns III announced Friday that a Hunterdon County grand jury has issued a superseding indictment charging Dixon with one count of second-degree sexual assault, three counts of second-degree official misconduct, five counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact and one count of second-degree pattern of official misconduct. The new indictment was sought after an ongoing investigation revealed a third victim was assaulted by the defendant. Dixon was previously arrested on Nov. 19, 2016, and later indicted on one count of second-degree sexual assault, two counts of second-degree official misconduct and one count of second-degree pattern of official misconduct, and three counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact. The joint investigation by the prosecutor’s office and the state Department of Corrections revealed that Dixon was employed as a corrections officer when he engaged in a sexual relationship with inmates at the Edna Mahan prison in Union Township near Clinton. Dixon has been suspended from his position with the DOC since his arrest. The latest charges against Dixon further shines a spotlight on the rape culture at the Edna Mahan women’s prison. A total of six male employees, including five corrections officers, have been charged with the sex assault of nine female inmates at Edna Mahan over the last two years. Other corrections officers charged in the prison-rape investigation were Joel Mercado, Thomas Seguine, Jason Mays and Brian Y. Ambroise. A kitchen worker at the prison, Joel Herscap, 55, was sentenced last year to three years in prison on an official misconduct charge for reportedly exchanging cigarettes with two female inmates in return for sexual favors.
