In commenting, even in a closed meeting, that African countries were s**t-holes, President Trump’s action was idiotic, absurd and abominable; any diplomat who had done so would immediately and rightly have been dismissed.
But it pales into insignificance in comparison to Senator Richard Durbin’s action in broadcasting the president’s stupid and objectionable statement outside the meeting. In the senator’s fervor to heap opprobrium to President Trump and emasculate the GOP government at any and every opportunity, the senator has brought shame and disgrace to the USA on the world stage, and initiated a crisis in our relationships with the African nations.
Senator Durbin, such a statement by a sitting president of the USA should have been buried, not broadcast, and if you took the USA and its people into consideration, instead of whatever advantage you could gain for your own political party, you would have realized that.
