Firefighters believe a heat lamp started the fire

MASSILLON  Firefighters believe a heat lamp inside a dog box started a fire Friday night in the 300 block of Third Street NE.

The box was near an outside corner of the house at 314 Third Street NE, said Capt. Robert Knapp. The fire then rose along the house's exterior.

No injuries were reported and the house still was habitable, Knapp said. 

Firefighters responded to the fire shortly before 9 p.m. and had extinguished it within about 30 minutes.
