Onsted, Blissfield boys basketball teams fall
The Onsted and Madison bowling teams split their non-conference matchup Friday afternoon at Lenawee Recreation Bowling Center. The Madison boys won 28-2, while Onsted’s girls prevailed 26-4.
Leading Madison’s boys was Keegan Newcomb, who bowled a 208 and 175, while Anthony Contreras bowled 191 and 172. Gavin Blaker rolled a 190 and a 158.
Madison’s boys rolled a 182 and 171 in the Baker games against Onsted’s 145 and 115.
Evan Froelich led the Wildcat boys efforts by bowling a 180, while Kyle Bayes rolled a 167.
For the Onsted girls, Serena Nichols bowled a 189 and a 149 to lead the way, while Hannah Hadden rolled a 150 and a 144.
The Wildcat girls bowled Bakers of 188 and 133, compared to the Trojans’ 144 and 117.
Madison’s girls were led by Isabell Young, who had a 161 and a 133.
-- Onsted-Madison JVs: The Onsted and Madison junior varsity programs battled in a co-ed meet, with Madison prevailing 22-8 behind Devin Bagget’s 157.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Dundee 80, Blissfield 60: At Dundee, the Royals struggled in their Lenawee County Athletic Association loss Friday night.
Blissfield got 21 points from Ty Wyman and 20 from Gavin Ganun, but fell to 0-10 on the season and 0-7 in the LCAA.
Columbia Central 62, Onsted 58: At Brooklyn, the Wildcats outscored the Golden Eagles 36-32 in the second half, but a slow start doomed them in their LCAA contest Friday.
Ethan Hunt had 23 points and 17 rebounds to lead Onsted (6-4, 4-2). James Dietrich had 16 points and six rebounds, while Harris Worker had six steals for the Wildcats.
