A man wanted in Mississippi on sexual battery charges was arrested today at his home in Gray, Louisiana State Police said.
Troy Verrett, 27, was booked into the Lafourche Parish jail and is awaiting extradition to Mississippi, Trooper First Class Jesse LaGrange said in a news release. He is wanted by the Tishomingo County Sheriff's Office on three counts of sexual battery.
LaGrange said Verrett is a registered sex offender, having been convicted in Terrebonne Parish of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile. The U.S. Marshalls Service had contacted state troopers Thursday about him possibly living in Lafourche.
