BIGGSVILLE — The United High School boys basketball team defeated Lincoln Trail Conference rival West Central 64-55 on Friday.
The Red Storm entered the break with a 27-26 advantage. United sealed it with a 37-29 final two quarters.
The Red Storm shot 24-for-34 from the free throw line in the second half.
Toby Whitsitt went 11-for-12 from the charity stripe and finished with 20 points to lead United. Adam Johnson added 16 points and Jackson Lee scored 10 for the Red Storm.
Bradon Annegers led the Heat with 20 points. Ben Krieger chipped in 13 points and Nathan Bigger finished with 10 for West Central.
Mercer County 83 Ridgewood 75
At Woodhull, the Spartans trailed 39-35 after the first half and went on to suffer the LTC loss to the Golden Eagles.
Ridgewood entered the fourth quarter down 58-54 after both teams scored 19 points in the third.
Mercer County edged the Spartans 25-21 in the fourth quarter.
Briar Greenman had a game-high 32 points to lead Ridgewood. Travis Kane added 17 points for the Spartans.
Quinton and Rashaun King each scored 25 points to lead Mercer County. Jordan Metcalf added 15 points and Anthony Ruggles finished with 12 for the Golden Eagles.
