Bicyclist hit, killed in Pinellas Park

A bicyclist was hit and killed Saturday morning while crossing 49th Street in Pinellas Park.
The crash occurred around 9:45 a.m. Jan. 20 in the 8700 block of 49th Street.
Pinellas Park Police said an adult male, riding a bicycle, was attempting to cross the street when he was hit by a northbound vehicle.
The man was pronounced dead on scene.
All of northbound 49th Street between 86th Avenue and 88th Avenue is closed. All of southbound 49th Street remains open.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area for several hours as investigators continue to investigate the crash.
